It does take much longer and is way messier. But, I love it when my boys cook and bake with me. There are times when either it isn't safe or I'm just in a massive hurry, and I have to just do things myself. Whenever I can, though, I let them help with anything they can. Mashing bananas for banana bread is fun for them, and they love it for breakfast the next day.*Don't worry. If we ever cook or bake for you, I either make it a kid-free zone or stay all over them about tasting, hand washing, etc.
