Valentine's Day 2010

When I was a teacher the Valentine's Day party day was my favorite of all the party days. Not sure why because it wasn't the day before Christmas Break or the last day of school, but for some reason it was my favorite. Well, I decided that I'd make it fun for my boys today. My kitchen isn't a complete wreck, so I set out a few little decorations this week and the boys' presents. Carter opened his early and helped Graham with his today.
We started off the morning with pink, heart-shaped pancakes and strawberries. Jon had to go to work for a while today but was able to join us for breakfast first. During bedtime prayers Carter thanked Jesus for mom's heart shaped pancakes :)
Last night we went out for pizza, and our pizza was a little overcooked. Before they even gave us our pizza they offerred to give us a "take and bake" to take home with us. So, we ate ok pizza last night and had our bake at home tonight with salad for Valentine dinner. Afterwards, we had brownie (heart shaped before I cut it) sundaes for dessert!Graham finally figured "forget the spoon!" and grabbed it all with his hands. I love the fudge and ate some extra afterwards. Graham so sweetly signed "more" and pointed at the bottle of chocolate fudge. Who can resist that? Of course, I squeezed more into his bowl!
Carter Valentine week 2007. He was just over a year old. Our neighbor at the time gave us this shirt for him when he was born, and now both of my boys have worn it.
It's a little smaller on Graham than Carter because Graham is closing in on 18 months wearing it.

Love it! I might have to steal some ideas for next year. This year we had Spaghetti (because the sauce is red!), heart shaped garlic breadsticks and red velvet cupcakes with valentine sprinkles and I didn't get pics of any of it! Oh well. I'm going to do the heart shaped pancakes next year. Yummy.
